A Houston-based ATM theft crew, suspected of multiple Fort Worth ATM thefts, was caught in the act last month, leading to seven arrests, police said Wednesday. Officers followed the crew to a bank ATM on Hulen Street in mid-January after the Fort Worth Tactical Intelligence Operations Surveillance Team received information about a planned heist.

Police were already investigating several ATM thefts they believed the ring had committed in Fort Worth and received a tip that suspects were traveling back to attempt more thefts, officials said.

Police are investigating a string of smash-and-grab robberies at El Rancho grocery stores in North Texas. The most recent incident was in Fort Worth on Sunday, where multiple people were arrested.
