Harvard University held its commencement ceremony today as a federal district judge said she will issue a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from making changes to Harvard’s student visa program indefinitely.

A federal judge has extended an injunction on the Trump Administration's attempt to halt Harvard's student visa program.

Cleo Carney, who grew up in London while her father was Governor of the Bank of England, just finished her freshman year at the prestigious Cambridge university.

Harvard wants its students to go and change the world and you can’t change the world without understanding the world,” she said.

Many international students come to the U.S. with hopes of gaining work experience, either before returning to their home countries or pursuing a longer-term career in the U.S.

Harvard University held its commencement on Thursday, and the Ivy League school's ongoing battle with the Trump administration over international student enrollment and federal funding was on the mind of speakers and students at the graduation ceremony in Cambridge.

The attacks are "particularly damaging for Massachusetts," the lawmakers wrote in a letter to senior Trump administration officials.
