MONTREAL — As Team Canada’s management group processed the news that Shea Theodore was lost to injury for the remainder of the 4 Nations Face-Off, it immediately became apparent that they needed to quickly get contingency plans in place.

Canada defenseman Shea Theodore is out for the rest of the 4 Nations Face-Off because of injury. Theodore injured his right wrist or forearm when he got crunched into the glass on a hit by Sweden's Adrian Kempe in the second period.

The 23-year-old’s call up comes after Shea Theodore was ruled out of the tournament following an upper body injury sustained during Canada’s OT win

The wheels are in motion to ensure that Canada is fully staffed when the 4 Nations Face-Off shifts venues in case they have any more casualties. Chris Johnston of The Athletic reported on Thursday that Canada is having Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley travel to Boston to stand by as an extra defender in case of emergency.
