Jurassic World Rebirth, the much-hyped summer release, is slated to open on July 2. The forthcoming sci-fi action thriller is directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, and is a standalone sequel to 2022's Jurassic World Dominion. Overall, the film is the seventh entry in the Jurassic franchise. Here is the official synopsis, per IMDb:

Jurassic World Rebirth's age rating has now been revealed ... While it would be interesting to one day see an R-rated Jurassic movie, the PG-13 rating has served the franchise well.

The official reasonings for Jurassic World Rebirth‘s PG-13 rating include “intense sequences of violence/action, bloody images, some suggestive references, language and a drug reference.”

Whether Jurassic World Rebirth gets a re-release IMAX run later this year remains to be seen. The post-summer season IMAX slate includes Weapons (Aug. 8), The Conjuring: Last Rites (Sept. 5), Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle (Sept. 12), Him (Sept. 19), and One Battle After Another (Sept. 26).
