A state of emergency has been issued in Marion County following severe flash flooding that led to the partial collapse of an apartment building and other damage

Marion County 911 officials said multiple rescues have taken place across the county. Viewers have submitted photos and videos of damage across Marion and Monongalia counties, including the collapse of an apartment building’s rear wall near Fairmont State University.

This time last year rainfall from April showers caused flash flooding around Marion County and that's set to potentially happen again starting Wednesday and continuing on for the rest of this week.

Marion County 911 officials said multiple water rescues have taken place across the county, including numerous at a Fairmont apartment complex.
