Rainbow rooster is a dual purpose, low input, multi-coloured chicken from India. It was bred by Indbro Research and Breeding Farms in Southern India as part of a food programme by the state.

In Uganda, Rainbow Rooster chicken was first distributed by Dr David Kayondo of Vet Frontiers. In a recent interview Kayondo said the Rainbow Roosters are capable of producing about 300 eggs.
