Actually, there were two engine options for the GT500 for 1967 -- the other was Ford's 427 CID V8 that was quite a bit more expensive than the Shelby-modified 428 CID unit.
It’s reasonable to believe the new Shelby GT500 with its Legend engine will start at least in the high $80,000 range. But we wouldn’t be surprised if Ford just bumps it to $100,000.
