Monthly storytelling series are being held at venues in Portland and Lewiston, and other storytelling events have been held recently focused on health care, parenting, immigrant life and food.

A free event at 3 p.m. June 6 will feature Shimojima. She will share the history of her Japanese American family’s life in America.
