Vienna-Style Lager from Dovetail is always my go-to for a Vienna-style lager. There’s no hiding behind the ingredients of this beer. It’s 100% Vienna malt and classic Styrian Golding hops.

Especially the classic Vienna-style lager. This reddish brown, fall seasonal beer is like Austria’s equivalent of the popular Bavarian beer style Märzen (the style of many Oktoberfest beers ).

Amber lagers are among my favorite beers, with Vienna lager being near the top. Double Elbow’s Pops Vienna-style lager (Rochester) is an excellent, Americanized take on the style.

“We’re brewing Vienna Lager. We usually brew earlier in the week, but when it’s really busy, we’ll be brewing every day of the week,” said Beckmann, 37, a Downers Grove resident.

"Use a malty, slightly sweet beer like a Vienna lager, Märzen, or bock," he says, referring to some traditional Oktoberfest beer styles that tend to play well with a brat's flavor.
