On December 16, two men arrived at the Wasbank police station in an Albany bread truck to report that they had just been robbed by armed men while travelling on the Wasbank-Tholeni road.

Two suspected cash-in-transit robbers have been shot dead during a shootout with police at Wasbank near Ladysmith ... the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) in Alberton on Monday.

The men told neighbours that they would leave her at Ekuvukeni police station. But this never happened. Her body was later found near a gravel farm at Ntsepe game farm in the Wasbank area.
