Use electrical tape A simpler, and cheaper fix, is to wrap your frayed cord in electrical tape. Wrap the frayed area first, then wrap outward along the cord a few times to prevent further damage.
It's a relatively simple way to get a custom-sized wrap for your cords without ruining them. Twist- or zip-ties may work, but they generally can't be cut to any length you need like duct tape can.
