The National Park Service as a whole saw a record number of 331.9 recreation visits last year. Of the 63 NPS sites designated specifically as national parks, Yellowstone was the fourth most visited.

Yellowstone National Park saw a record 566,363 visits in May 2025, an 8% increase from last year, contributing to 762,672 total visits so far this year.

Officials are warning visitors to Yellowstone National Park not to get too close to animals after a man was gored by a bison.
