In a surprise announcement during the Xbox Game Showcase over the weekend, Microsoft’s Activision confirmed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is coming later this year.

The next Call of Duty installment was announced over the weekend, along with its release platforms, which did not include Nintendo Switch 2.

Looking at the official landing page for Black Ops 7, we can see that the game is planned for release on Xbox, PlayStation and both Steam and Battle.net for PC. However, despite Microsoft vowing to bring Call of Duty to the Nintendo Switch in 2023, it still appears that the franchise will be missing out on a Switch release this year.

Treyarch is already improving the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies experience in the Grief game mode, which is back after a long decade.
