Durant's reported preferred suitors in the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs continue to negotiate with the Suns' front office, the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly been the most aggressive team in the Durant sweepstakes.
Kevin Durant considers the Spurs and Rockets as preferred teams for a long-term commitment with his Suns tenure uncertain.
“Durant’s list of preferred trade destinations contains three teams,” Stein wrote. “Yet it almost had four. The Stein Line has learned that the Knicks also would have featured on that list but were ultimately omitted when New York made it clear that it has decided against pursuing a trade for the NBA’s No. 8 all-time leading scorer.”
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Durant would have welcomed the opportunity to join the New York Knicks. But after making the Eastern Conference finals with their current core, they were reportedly not interested in trading for Durant, who will turn 37 in September.
