The famous Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles will also host a live stream of the Strawberry Moon rising from its most southerly position on the eastern horizon in 18 years. The observatory will go live on YouTube starting at 11:42 p.m. ET on June 11 (0342 GMT on June 12).
June’s full moon, known as a “strawberry moon,” may appear reddish because of its low position on the Southern Horizon.
The rare strawberry moon is making an appearance on Tuesday, June 10, and clear skies are forecasted for the majority of the United States.
Marylanders will be able to see the full strawberry moon in the southeast sky. There will be 25 chances to see the full moon in 2025, with the next one occurring on July 10. The night skies get even more interesting this fall with a total lunar eclipse in September, followed by three supermoons in October, November and December.
