Human remains were found in a suitcase floating near Governors Island Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD. The NYPD harbor unit recovered the suitcase and the remains were transported to Pier 16 where EMS and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded,

The gruesome discovery was made when the NYPD Harbor Unit retrieved the suitcase, which contained a man's torso, in the East River south of Manhattan.
