Lawyers for Kilmar Abrego Garcia are accusing President Donald Trump's administration of pretending for weeks to be powerless to return him to the United States from El Salvador.

Attorneys for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the man arrested by the government and sent to an El Salvador prison in error and then returned to the United States, argue that he should be freed from jail pending trial.

This comes less than a week after he was returned to the U.S., having spent months of imprisonment in a Salvadorian facility. The Maryland husband and father now faces criminal charges in Tennessee.
