The next stage to the Michigan State football offseason before training camp gets underway will be summer official visits, looking to close out on some key prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. Prior to that, though, Michigan State's coaching staff had to solidify the roster pre-and-post spring ball.

Michigan State football hit the portal hard for defensive backs during the offseason to try and get back to the "No-Fly Zone" production of the past.

Staying on it was the challenge. The Michigan State defensive tackle and former four-star recruit played the first four games of his true freshman year before being shelved to maintain a redshirt. A season-ending injury followed before the 2023 schedule began.

Entering the NCAA Tournament, Michigan State was given a No. 2 seed. Izzo was able to lead his team past No. 15 Bryant in the first round, No. 10 New Mexico in the second round, and No. 6 Ole Miss in the Sweet 16. Unfortunately, the Spartans were unable to beat No. 1 Auburn.
