Off the track, with F1 partners and sponsors placing such an emphasis on the American races these days, Monaco is no longer in rarefied air
It’s nearly time for the best F1 qualifying session of the year at the Monaco Grand Prix. It was an intriguing Friday as Charles Leclerc set the pace in the two practice sessions. Ahead of the weekend, Leclerc downplayed Ferrari’s chances due to their weakness in low-speed corners. McLaren were close behind in Friday practice.
Ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix both Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar talked about getting their first taste of the Monaco Grand Prix as an F1 driver. Don’t look now but both drivers seemed up to the challenge, even if Hadjar had to deal with some moments that left him “scared.”
What did Friday’s two practice sessions tell us? Well, one, that it could end up being a three-team fight for pole position. Despite their proclamations that they will not be very good this weekend, Ferrari put in a strong showing in both FP1 and FP2, with local hero Charles Leclerc fastest of anyone in both of those sessions.

GPFans on MSNF1 Monaco Grand Prix: Sky Sports issue David Croft and Martin Brundle update after race absenceSky Sports F1 have issued an update, after broadcasting legends Martin Brundle and David Croft missed the Imola Grand Prix. This weekend, Formula 1 heads to Monaco for the eighth round of the 2025 campaign, with the historic circuit once again playing host to a championship race.
Three Formula 1 drivers have previously deployed a 1000 IQ tactic in a bid to secure pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix. The race around the Circuit de Monaco is one of the most historic and iconic Grand Prix in F1 history. Millionaires, billionaires and A-list celebrities are often spotted throughout the race weekend.
F1 and its governing body, the FIA, hope a rule change for Sunday’s race will change that. Drivers will be forced to change tires at least twice in the hope that more pit stop strategy could shake up an event where Saturday qualifying — and the resulting grid position — is often more important than race day.
