A second police shooting in New York City over the course of last weekend is prompting questions about how a man who investigators believe called 911 over concerns of a possible robbery ended up getting shot by responding officers.

Police in the Bronx shot a man who called 911 for help on Sunday evening after they mistook him for a knife-wielding assailant charging at them, authorities said.  According to police officials, the peculiar incident unfolded when a 32-year-old man residing at 335 East 148th St.

An NYPD officer shot and wounded a 911 caller during an “extremely fast-moving” confrontation Sunday shortly after a man tried to swipe the caller’s air conditioner, police said.
