GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Police have identified a man killed in a shooting on the city’s Southeast Side as 31-year-old Montaness Lowe. A Kent County medical examiner ruled Lowe’s death as a homicide. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on May 23 in the 1400 block of Wealthy Street SE. Grand Rapids police say Lowe was standing outside when he was shot.

Police say Karen Yvonne Watkins, 37, of Norfolk, was shot in the area of 27th Street and Wickham Avenue, in the East End section of the city. Officers responded to the area around 11:21 p.m. Sunday night after a ShotSpotter activation.

A man allegedly connected to a Colorado Springs shooting that injured six people Saturday night turned himself in, according to the police department.
