Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani threw another bullpen session on Saturday, hours before Los Angeles hosted the New York Yankees for the second game of their weekend series, as he continues to work his way toward his first big-league pitching appearance since late 2023.
The Dodgers hosted the Yankees for a rematch of the 2024 World Series and Shohei Ohtani had a massive night. While Judge started things off with a deep home run to center in the top of the first, Ohtani answered back with a blast in the bottom of the inning.
With the Angels up two runs on the Dodgers in the ninth inning and Mookie Betts stepping to the plate with Ohtani on second, Jansen intentionally committed a balk to move Ohtani to third. But Jansen was almost confused as to why Ohtani and the umpires ignored the blatant balk initially.
