Britain has selected Rolls-Royce SMR to build the country's first small modular nuclear reactors (SMR) as part of its plan to speed up the decarbonisation of the power network from the mid-2030s.

Following a two-year competition, Rolls-Royce SMR has been selected as the preferred bidder to construct the UK's first small modular reactors. ;

Rolls-Royce SMR has been chosen as the preferred bidder to collaborate with Great British Energy - Nuclear, in developing small modular reactors (SMRs) in the UK. This selection is pending final government approvals and the formal signing of contracts.
