The Tax Division is the branch of the sheriff’s office charged with collecting and disbursing funds due to and from the county. In addition to this duty, the Tax Division is also responsible for overseeing Conservatorship and Estate administration appointments.

The Deputy Sheriffs of the Law Enforcement Division (LED) are responsible for many police functions in the unincorporated areas of Kanawha County. They patrol neighborhoods and highways, respond to 911 calls, investigate crimes and traffic crashes, and serve warrants.
