William Colonel Smith Jr.[1] (born February 6, 1982) is an American politician who is a member of the Maryland Senate representing District 20 since 2016. He previously represented the district in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2015 to 2016. Smith was born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, [2] on February 6. 1982. [3] .

William C. Smith Jr. was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. His parents were young adults during the height of the civil rights movement. It was their struggle and sacrifice that opened doors of opportunity for Will.
